MALDIVES
Maldives, officially the Republic of the Maldives and also referred to as the Maldive Islands, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean consisting of a double chain of twenty-six atolls, oriented north-south, that lie between Minicoy Island (the southernmost part of Lakshadweep, India) and the Chagos Archipelago. The chains stand in the Laccadive Sea, about 700 kilometres (430 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka and 400 kilometres (250 mi) south-west of India.

The Maldives are great year round, with December to April a particularly popular time.

It is recommended that all immunisations and boosters for travel to the Maldives are up to date. Yellow Fever immunisation is required if arriving from an infected country. Flight Information:
Sri Lankan Airlines offers a scheduled direct service to the Maldives from London Heathrow. British Airways have introduced a new direct non stop service from London Gatwick three times per week. British Airways offers the only Premium Economy service to the Maldives. Other carriers to feature the Maldives include Emirates - with great UK regional coverage and Qatar Airways with services from London Heathrow and Manchester. Thomson also features services from London Gatwick and Manchester.
