Thailand, officially the Kingdom of Thailand, formerly known as Siam, is a country located at the centre of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the north by Burma and Laos, to the east by Laos and Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea and the southern extremity of Burma. Its maritime boundaries include Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast, and Indonesia and India in the Andaman Sea to the southwest.
When to go:
Though Thailand is hot year round, the best time to go is between November and March, when it rains less and temperatures are cooler.

Tourist/Visa/health information:
British Passport holders are not required a visa to enter Thailand for tourist stays up to 30 days only. Hepatitis A, Polio and Typhoid immunisation and malaria tablets are recommended for protection against disease. Yellow fever immunisation is required if arriving from an infected country or area.
Flight information:
There are a great number of carriers flying to Thailand. Other direct non stop carriers include Thai Airways with 2 services per day, British Airways and Qantas. Onward travel to the islands from Bangkok will be on either Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways.
