It's the hilltop position that sets this place apart from the crowd. The property looks out over Rovaniemi and its surrounding countryside, so the views are nothing short of spectacular. Better still, you�re in a great spot for exploring. The hotel is just footsteps from the Ounasavaara Ski Resort, so you can be whizzing down the slopes within minutes of getting up in the morning. Plus, Rovaniemi�s cosmopolitan city centre is less than five minutes away in a taxi.

As for the hotel itself, it�s home to a stylish restaurant that offers up panoramic views through its floor-to-ceiling windows. The a la carte menu is one of the best in Rovaniemi, and features Lappish favourites like smoked fish and a wide variety of meats. There�s also a buffet section, with plenty in the way of international dishes. After-dinner drinks, meanwhile, come courtesy of the lobby bar. You can even take your beer or wine up to the hotel�s rooftop terrace for a spot of star-gazing.

Another great thing about this place is all the extras it offers. There�s a cinema where little ones can watch a film while tucking in to a tub of popcorn, plus an outdoor ice-skating rink and even an ice maze.

In terms of accommodation, you can choose a room in the main hotel building or opt for a traditional log cabin a little further away. The former are kitted out with soft lighting and wooden floors, and come with mod-cons like satellite TVs, hairdryers and minibars. The cottages, meanwhile, are tucked in to snowy woodland, so they feel nicely secluded.
