What is a Disney dining plan and how does it work?

Disney dining plans are a convenient and flexible way to enjoy meals and snacks at many of the restaurants and food service locations at Walt Disney World Resort. Dining plans are included in some Magic Your Way Vacation Packages—which also include a Resort hotel stay and theme park tickets.

How do I determine how many meals and snacks I have left on my dining plan?

Your dining plan includes a certain number of meal and snack entitlements. The amount of entitlements required for a meal or snack varies based on your specific dining plan and the restaurant and food service locations where you dine.

After you dine at a table-service restaurant, your party’s remaining entitlements will be printed on the receipt. Ask your hotel Concierge for a complete printout of your meals used and available.

Are gratuities included with dining plans?

No. Gratuities are not included with packages that include dining plans—unless otherwise indicated.

An automatic 18% gratuity charge will be added to your bill for parties of 6 or more. Merchandise or photo-imaging products that may be offered at Character Dining experiences are also not included, except at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

How do I make dining reservations for my Disney dining plan?

While all of our dining plans are flexible, your dining plan entitlements are only valid at select Walt Disney World restaurants and food service locations.

When you book your reservations online, you have the option to only show restaurants that participate in a Disney dining plan. Before you confirm your reservation, please double check to ensure that the location accepts your specific dining plan.

You can also call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 and advise us that you have a dining plan. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

What is Mickey Check and what does the Mickey Check symbol mean on menus at Walt Disney World restaurants?

Mickey Check makes it easy to spot food and beverage choices that fit your family’s healthy lifestyle. When you see Mickey Check, you'll know that the food you're looking at is tasty and meets Disney nutritional guidelines!

You can find the Mickey Check icon next to specific items on Walt Disney World restaurant menus. When you’re looking at our online restaurant menus, Mickey Check items are grouped together in a separate category, similar to Entrées or Desserts. If you only wish to view Mickey Check items, select “Mickey Check” from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.

In addition to Walt Disney World restaurant menus, you’ll find Mickey Check in stores, online and at the Disneyland Resort.

Are dining plans available separately from vacation packages?

No. Disney dining plans cannot be purchased separately from a package. They are only available as one component of some Magic Your Way Vacation Packages—which also include a Resort hotel stay and theme park tickets.

Do I have to purchase a vacation package to use a dining plan?

Yes. Dining plans are not a separate product, but a core part of your Magic Your Way Vacation Package. Vacation Packages are a flexible and convenient way to enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation and our dining plans are one of the popular options that make our packages so helpful and valuable.

How much does it cost to park at the parks?

The rate depends on your vehicle, but each theme park lot charges the same rate per day.

Automobile, taxi, limo or motorcycle: $17 USD
Camper, trailer or RV: $18 USD
Bus or tractor trailer: $21 USD

Once you pay for the day, you may park at any of the theme parks.

If you are a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel, you receive complimentary parking at Disney theme parks for the length of your Resort stay. You must present valid Disney Resort hotel identification to enter the parking lots. Parking is also complimentary with select Annual Passes.

How much does it cost to park at the Downtown Disney area at Walt Disney World Resort?

Self-parking is complimentary. We’ve begun an all-new expansion, so the entire Downtown Disney area at Walt Disney World Resort is really buzzing with excitement. During construction, now through 2016, we recommend arriving 60 minutes prior to your show time or reservation.

On our busiest days, just follow the signs to the overflow parking and enjoy our complimentary shuttle or a quick walk back to the Downtown Disney area.

Valet parking is available from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Enter through Downtown Disney West Side Entrance 4—vehicle drop-off is directly in front of Cirque du Soleil. The cost of valet parking is $20 and will be collected at the time of pick-up. Gratuity is not included.

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel? Take advantage of complimentary transportation by bus or boat. Many area accommodations also provide or arrange transportation to and from the Downtown Disney area.

There’s so much to see and do, you might want to arrive earlier in the day. This is also the time when the Downtown Disney area tends to be less busy.

I will be visiting multiple Disney theme parks on the same day. Do I have to pay for parking at each theme park?

No. If you pay for parking at one Disney theme park, you may park at other Disney theme parks on the same day for no additional charge.

If your ticket has the Park Hopper Option, you can also use the complimentary Walt Disney World transportation system to visit our other theme parks.

If you are a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel, you receive complimentary parking at Disney theme parks for the length of your Resort hotel stay. You must present valid Disney Resort hotel identification to enter the parking lots.

Parking is also complimentary with select Annual Passes.

What are the Disney Resort hotel check-in and check-out times?

The check-in time is 4:00 PM for Disney Deluxe Villas, 1:00 PM for The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and 3:00 PM for the other Disney Resort hotels. The check-out time is 11:00 AM.

When you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, visit the Front Desk and we’ll provide any theme park tickets that are included in your Magic Your Way package—even if it is before the standard check-in time.

Plus, if you take advantage of Disney's Magical Express transportation, we can deliver your luggage directly to your room when it is available, so you are free to start enjoying Walt Disney World Resort. Only select Disney Resort hotels offer access to Disney’s Magical Express transportation.

Where can we find information for guests with disabilities?

Information for guests with disabilities is available at all four Disney Theme Parks; for specific ride restriction information, visit the pages dedicated to the attractions you're interested in. All Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer rooms that accommodate guests with disabilities. For assistance and information specific to individual hotels, please call our Disney Experts on 0845 367 4000* or check our website.

Accommodation for guests with disabilities can include a variety of modified features, such as; wider bathrooms, roll-in showers, hand-held shower heads, accessible vanities, portable commodes and bathroom rails. Bed accessories can include; bed rails, lower beds and rubber bed pads and open bed frames. Room communication kits can include; door knock and phone alerts, bed shaker alarm, text typewriter (TTY), strobe light fire alarm and phone amplifier. Other features can include: Buses with wheelchair lifts, double peep holes in doors, refrigerators (may include an extra charge), closed caption television and Braille on signage and elevators.

Walt Disney World also has designated parking areas for guests with disabilities (when showing a valid disability permit). At locations offering valet parking, vehicles displaying a valid disability parking permit will receive complimentary service.

Can I buy alcohol or tobacco while at Walt Disney World?

Yes, you can.

For the purchase of alcohol and tobacco in Walt Disney World and Disney’s Vero Beach, you must show the accepted forms of ID. You must show your passport AND a government-issued photo ID which can verify the name and birth date shown on the copy of the passport.

For example, to be sold either of these items you must show your passport with a driving licence or a passport with a photo ID card. Neither of these forms of ID are acceptable on their own as valid identification.
